MARGARET L. SMELTZER
Margaret L. Smeltzer
Margaret L. Smeltzer, 88, of Harrisburg, died Sunday, June 3, 2007 i
the Jewish Home
of Greater Harrisburg.
She was born January 23, 1919 in Liverpool, daughter of the late Willi
am C. and Susan
M. (Lyter) Long.
She was preceded by death by her husband of 56 years, Robert E. Smeltz
er on January
31, 2003, and one brother, Roy C. Long of Liverpool.
Margaret retired from the PA Department of Transportation, and was a
member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Linglestown.
Survivors include her son, William Smeltzer and his wife, Kathy of Har
isburg; one
grandson, Brandon Smeltzer of Harrisburg; eight siblings, Julia M. Kol
ler of Liverpool,
Blanche E. Wallis and her husband, Robert of Liverpool, Mildred A. Mur
phy and her
husband, Dale of Palmyra, Isabelle A. Cameron and her husband, Harol
d of Hesston,
Truman E. Long and his wife, Jo of Hummelstown, Carol J. Wilfong and h
er husband,
Dave of Duncannon, W. Palmer Long and his wife, Joan, Susan J. Hoff an
d her husband,
Mike; and sister-in-law Maxine Long, all of Liverpool.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m.,Tuesd
ay, June 5, 2007 at
Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1214 Crosby Street, Linglestown, w
ith her pastor
Rev. William Stickley officiating. Inurnment will follow the service i
Shoop's Cemetery,
Harrisburg. The family will receive friends Monday, June 4, 2007 fo
a visitation from 7-9
p.m., in Hoover Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc., 6011 Linglestown Roa
d, Harrisburg.
