James E. Bierly May 1, 1957 December 27, 2012 James Edward Bierly (Jim
), 55, of Gallup, N.M., formerly of Loganton, passed away on Dec. 27
, 2012. He was born on May 1, 1957 in Harrisburg, to the late Glenn Ed
ward Bierly and Marie Joy (Yarnell) Bierly. Jim grew up on the Bierl
y Family Farm at 1486 West Valley Road, Loganton (Booneville). He wa
s baptized and was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Booneville
. During his childhood, he became a Boy Scout and traveled with his tr
oop to the Philmont National Boy Scout Ranch in New Mexico. He loved t
he Southwest and dreamed of returning someday. He was a 1975 graduat
e of Sugar Valley High School. After high school, he was a disc jocke
y for WBPZ in Lock Haven and WRAK in Williamsport. He graduated from t
he Williamsport Area Community College (Communications), The Pennsylva
ia State University (Pre-Law), and the University of New Mexico (Law)
. He was most recently employed as a Senior District Attorney in McKin
ley Co, N.M. Surviving in New Mexico are four sons, twins Jesus Edwar
d Bierly and Jeremy Isaiah Bierly, both of Las Cruces, Glenn James Bie
ly, of Albuquerque, and Geoffrey Cullen Bierly, of Gallup. He is als
o survived by one granddaughter, Marie Michelle Bierly (daughter of Je
emy). Also surviving are two sisters, Helen (Kenneth) Imes, of Lock H
aven and Glenda (Frank) Mark, of Loganton; and a brother, David (Nicke
l) Bierly, of Bellefonte. For family and friends, a memorial service f
or James E. Bierly will be held May 1, 2013, at 11 a.m., in St. John
s Lutheran Church, Booneville, with Pastor Kenneth Geisewite officiati
g. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's na
