Evelyn M. Meixel, 77, of Williamsport, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 20
14.

Born Jan. 24, 1937 in Rauchtown, she was a daughter to the late John W
esley and Bertha Osborne Smith.

Evelyn was retired from Sycamore Manor. She enjoyed playing cards, he
dogs, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are three sons, David E. Peasley or Pismo Beach, Cali., Stev
en D. Peasley of Williamsport, and Michael B. Peasley of Williamsport
; a daughter, Jody L. (Ken) Laubach of Jersey Shore; three grandchildr
en, Zachary Meixel, Michael Mitcheltree II, and Steven Snyder; and tw
o great grandchildren, Blake and Beau Meixel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Meixel on Oct. 30
, 2004; eight sisters, Betty J. Kelly, Donna Lehman, Doris Lowe, Marth
a Kryder, Gladys Ranck, Margaret Morsey, Georgie Swales, and Ellen Kar
stetter; and a brother, William Smith.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at Frederi
ck B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Visitatio
will be 6 p.m. Monday until the time of service at Welker Funeral Ho
me. Pastor David McCoy will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Evelyn’s name may be mad
e to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
