    Dorothy J. Barner, 84, of Smyrna, Del., passed away peacefully in th
    e presence of her loved ones to join her late husband, Sherman R. Barn
    er, on Wednesday, June 28, 2017.

    Mrs. Barner was born on Oct. 27, 1932, in Montgomery, the daughter o
    f the late Ernest and Helen O’Connor.

    A graduate of Montgomery High School, she made a home in Smyrna, Del.
    , with her beloved husband Sherman, where they lived for nearly fift
    y years.

    She was a loving homemaker and was a caring and giving person. She wa
    s adored by all who knew her. She enjoyed her home, canning and was pr
    oud of her yard.

    Dorothy was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of F
    oreign Wars No. 3428 of Muncy.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband
    , Sherman R. Barner; her stepmother, Caroline O’Connor; and her sister
    , Marjorie Seyler.

    She is survived by her daughters, Karen Bennett and her husband Mike
    , of New Braunfels, Texas, and Susan Parker, of Canandaigua, N.Y.; he
    son, Rick Barner, of Smyrna, Del.; three grandchildren, Jay Bennett
    , Kory Parker, and Clare Barner; her great granddaughter, Aubrey Benne
    tt; her sisters, Beatrice Elliott, and Connie Deisher and her husban
    d Donnie; her brother-in-law, Harold Seyler; and many nieces, nephew
    s and extended family.

    A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at noon a
    t Green Lawn Memorial Park, 62 PA-54, Montgomery.

    In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to t
    he VFW No. 3428, 12 N. Market St., Rear, Muncy, PA 17756.
