Glenn E. Ludwig Sr., 82, of 1435 Locust St., Jersey Shore, passed awa
y Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at the Jersey Shore Hospital.

He was born July 21, 1923, in Jersey Shore, the son of Glenn H. and Ad
a Barner Ludwig.

Glenn retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service.

He was married for 57 years to the former Gertrude M. James and she su
vives.

Glenn had worked for the New York Central Railroad and the Jersey Shor
e Area School District.

He was a member of the Jersey Shore BPOE #1057.

Glenn loved to hunt, fish and gardening.

Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons, Glenn E. Jr. (Peggy) and Da
vid M. (Carol), both of Jersey Shore; a daughter, Linda A. (Clint) Gil
son of Mifflinburg; four grandsons and a great granddaughter; a brothe
, Robert T. Ludwig of Oval; and a twin sister, Mary Dean of New Castl
e.

Friends and relatives are invited to Glenn’s life celebration from 6 u
til 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, L
td. ‘‘A Life Celebration Home,’’ 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Ser
vices will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Family will provide flowers.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Central PA Dialy
sis Foundation, 1660 Sycamore Road, Suite B, Montoursville, PA 17754.

Glenn H. Ludwig, 73, of 906 Allegheny St., died Saturday in the Jerse
y Shore Hospital.
A native of Clinton Co, Mr. Ludwig had worked 40 years for the New Yor
k Central car shops in Avis, retiring in 1962.
His wife, the former Ada Barner, two sons, Glenn E., Jersey Shore an
d Robert T., Jersey Shore R.D. 3, also a
daughter, Mrs. Mary Rainey, New Castle, survive, with six grandchildre
, and a half brother, Jacob Ludwig of Jersey Shore.

Glenn married Ada Belle BARNER on 14 Dec 1922 in Baltimore, Baltimore Co, MD. Ada (daughter of Edward Hayes BARNER and Marie Belle CROYLE) was born on 3 Jul 1904 in Jersey Shore, Lycoming Co, PA; died on 16 Oct 1993 in Williamsport, Lycoming Co, PA; was buried in Jersey Shore Cemetery - Jersey Shore. She was employed as a nurse’s aide by the former Herritt Nursing Hom
e and Lysock View. She was a member of the Assembly of God in Antes Fo
t.
Born in Jersey Shore on July 3, 1904, she was the daughter of Edward a
d Marie Croyle Barner. Surviving are two sons, Glenn E., of Jersey Sh
ore, and Robert T., of Jersey Shore RR 2; a daughter, Mary L. Rainey o
f New Castle; two sisters, Lillian Housel and Lettie Murray, both of A
uburn, NY, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Je
sey Shore Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The family will prov
ide the flowers.
Arrangement are being handled by Rearick-Carpenter’s, 1002 Allegheny S
treet.
