    Elizabeth C. Barner, 96, of Richland, formerly of West Deer, died Wedn
    esday, April 9, 2008, in UPMC St. Margaret. She was born April 5, 1912
    , in Bakerton to the late Solomon and Violet Watson Henry and also wa
    s preceded in death by her husband, Edward M. Barner, who died Jan. 13
    , 1986; a daughter, Barbara Quattelbaum, and two sisters. Mrs. Barne
    was a secretary for the Department of Revenue at Dixmont State Hospi
    tal and a member of Valencia Presbyterian Church, the AARP, the PA Ass
    ociation of Retired State Employees and Mars Chapter 271, Order of th
    e Eastern Star. Surviving are son Robert Barner (Melody), of West Deer
    ; daughters Brooke Allen, of Oceanside, Calif., and Marjorie Atkinso
    (Clifford), of Valencia; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchild
    en. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at th
    e MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME INC., 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, where serv
    ices will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Peter deVries offici
    ating. Burial will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless. M
    emorials may be made to Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St.

    WILLIAM E. BARNER

    Husband of Mrs. Florence V. (Wyan) Barner of 1006 Second avenue, die
    d of a
    heart condition this morning at 5.45 o'clock after an illness of mor
    e than a
    year. He was born May 21, 1885, at Rote, Clinton Co, son of Joel and
    Lucinda (Imhoff) Barner, and was married June 6, 1906, at Bellefonte.
    Surviving are his widow, a son, Edward M. at Fort Jackson, S.C.; a dau
    ghter,
    Mrs. Margaret L. Burk at home; a grandson, William Miles Burk; a siste
    , Mrs.
    Mabel Aikey. Mr. Barner was a member of the United Evangelical churc
    h and
    treasurer of the Sunday school and for the past fifteen years a promin
    ent
    church worker. He was a member of Archie Maxwell lodge, I.O.O.F., an
    d had
    been employed as a machinist in the Twelfth street shops of the PA
    Railroad company. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'cloc
    k this
    evening.

    BARNER - Funeral services for the late William Edward Barner of 1006 S
    econd
    avenue will be conducted by Rev. H. C. Kleigel of the United Evangelic
    al
    church. Services will be held at the home Monday at 1 p.m. with furth
    er
    services at 3:30 p.m. in the United Evangelical church, Bellefonte, Ce
    tre Co, PA Friends are being
    eceived at the home.
