    David G. Homan February 20, 1941 - February 24, 2009 David G. Homan, 68, of Centre Hall, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at the Wynwood House in Centre Hall, after six months of illness, as a result of complications from a brain tumor. He was born Feb. 20, 1941, in Spring Twp, a son of the late George W. and Ruth A. Burris Homan. On Feb. 14, 1960, he married Mary H. Spayd, who survives at home. David was a 1959 Graduate of Penns Valley Area High School. He was employed by Balfurd Cleaners in State College for nearly 38 years, retiring in 2005. An active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, he served several terms on church council, and served on the property committee, devoting many hours to church maintenance. He was also a member of the A.S.A Umpires Association, having served as a softball umpire for many years; and was a member of the Centre Hall Farmer's and Businessmen's Association. David enjoyed bowling, having bowled on several leagues. His proudest accomplishment was rolling a 300 game. He also enjoyed hunting and especially the hunting trips to Colorado with family and friends; and spending time at their hunting camp. In addition to his wife, David is survived by one son, Bryan David Homan and his wife, Crystal, of Bellefonte; two daughters, Sylvia Jane Auman and her husband, Brian, of Centre Hall, and Judith Lorraine Homan, of Sanborton, N.H.; two grandchildren, Stephanie Marie Homan, of Bellefonte, Centre Co, PA 16828. He was born March 28, 1919, a son of the late Ralph G. and Ethel Long Homan. On April 2, 1920, he married Ruth A. Burris, who preceded him in death on March 17, 1994.
