Graveside services for Herman Brutke of McMinnville will be held a
t 2 p.m. Friday, July 27, at the Amity Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Peterso
will officiate.

Visitation is scheduled for 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 26, and 9 a.m
. to noon Friday, July 27, in the chapel at Macy & Son Funeral Directo
s.

Mr. Brutke died at home on Wednesday, July 18, 2007. He was 93.

Born in Taylor, Texas, on May 30, 1914, he was the son of George and A
melia (Frank) Brutke. He moved to the Amity area when he was 6.

He married Genevieve Lenore Barner on July 14, 1935, in Amity.

A life-long farmer, he raised strawberries and cherries until his reti
ement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

He moved to Parkland Village in McMinnville in April 2002.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Brutke is survived by a son, Dennis of Am
ity; two daughters, Joyce Confer and Robin Prine of Amity; eight grand
children and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six b
others, Adolph, Henry, August, David, Daniel and baby boy Brutke; an
d four sisters, Helen Keene, Ernestine Englehardt, Mathilda Johnson an
d baby girl Brutke.
