mpson, 90, of Bellefonte, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018, a
t Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on September 19
, 1928, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Marth
a (Aikey) Thompson. On July 8, 1950, in Lock Haven, he married Glori
a (Barner) Thompson who survives in Bellefonte. Richard was a 1949 gra
duate of Bellefonte Area High School. He worked as a mechanic on farmi
g machinery and for Hipple Implement Shop in Bellefonte. In additio
to his wife, he is survived by two daughters; Melissa Thompson of Be
llefonte and Jennifer Day of Milesburg. Also surviving are six grandch
ildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one da
ughter, Brenda Witmer, two sisters and one brother. There will be a pu
blic viewing held on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 6-7pm at Wetzle
Funeral Service, Inc. 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. A memorial s
ervice will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10am at Wetzler Fun
eral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, with Pastor Christopher Pass
ante officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the fam
