Biography
Erma I. Barner, age 78 of 753 N. Perry Hwy., Mercer (Coolsprings Twp.
) passed away at 5:45 pm, Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the home of he
daughter at 239 Black Hill Road, Franklin (French Creek Twp.) follow
ing a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on February 1, 1928 in Stoneboro, Pa. a daughter of the l
ate Theodore and Dora (McCurdy) Redfoot. On March 27, 1948 she marrie
d Robert J. Barner who preceded her in death on July 23, 1983. She wa
s a homemaker and had worked at the former Mercer Cottage Hospital a
s an LPN. She later did private duty nursing and house cleaning and ha
s also worked at the former Tate's Potato Farm in Coolsprings Twp. Sh
e had received her LPN certification through Vocational training.

She is survived by her daughter Gail Banks and her husband Ernest wit
h whom she resided in Franklin, Pa., a son Alan Barner of Ft. Lauderda
le, Florida. A sister Nellie Jones of Stoneboro, 2 brothers; Paul Redf
oot and his wife Jennie of Pittsburgh and Homer Redfoot and his wife M
axine of Mercer. 2 grandchildren: Shelly Laing and her husband Bob o
f Franklin and Ernest Banks and his wife Kate of St. Clairsville, Ohio
. 6 greatgrandchildren; Bobby and Ashley Laing of Franklin and Delaine
y, Zachary, Ethan and Lucinda Banks of St. Clairsville, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 sisters; Mar
y Stanek, Jane Snyder, Ella Slater and Donna Redfoot and two brother
s Lee Redfoot and Charles Redfoot.

Funeral and committal service will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2
007 at 3:00 pm at the Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home, Ltd. 169 Second S
treet, Fredonia with the Rev. Philip Chalfant, pastor of the Coolsprin
gs Presbyterian Church officiating. The interment will follow at the M
illbank Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday fr
om 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
