William C. Bierly, 88, of Jersey Shore, died Sunday morning Sept. 16
, 2018, in Hospice Care at the Williamsport Home.

Born April 6, 1930 in Jersey Shore he was the son of Harold Bierly, Sr
. and the former Barbara Johnson.

Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife the former Shirley A. Up
degraff Nov. 21, 2005, they were united in marriage June 11, 1950.

Earlier in his life he was employed as a butcher for Swift Packing Co
. and later worked for A&P and Robbs Store.

Bill is survived by three sons, Stephen W. (Barbara) Bierly, of Hagers
town Maryland, Thomas M. (Raye) Bierly, of Linden, and Scott A. (Charl
otte) Bierly, of Jersey Shore; grandchildren, Jennifer, Nathan, Erin
, Sarah, Ethan, Chloe, Kira and Rees and great-grandchildren, Kennedy
, Henry and Alayna.

Funeral services will be Friday Sept. 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Frede
ick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. Friday until time of services in the fun
eral home. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Jersey Shor
e Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Kerry Aucker will officiate.

Shirley A. Bierly, 76, of 223 Glover St., Jersey Shore, died Monday, N
ov. 21, 2005 in the Manor Care Health Center in Jersey Shore.
She was born Nov. 19, 1929 in Williamsport, the daughter of Seth Bierl
y and the former Fay Brownlee.
Her husband, William C. Bierly survives her. They were united in marri
age on June 11, 1950 in Saint John Lutheran Church in Jersey Shore.
For many years she was a member of the Saint John Lutheran Church in J
ersey Shore.
Also surviving are three sons, Stephen Bierly and wife Barbara of Hage
stown, Md., Thomas M. Bierly and wife Raye of Linden and Scott A. Bie
ly and wife Charlotte of Jersey Shore. Shirley also has seven grandch
ildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 25, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Frede
ick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. Friends ma
y call Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral ho
me. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Rev. Kerry Aucker, he
