William H. Buttorff, 82, of 453 Oliver St., Jersey Shore, died Monda
y Feb. 6, 2012 in the Susquehanna Home Care and Hospice Room at the Ma
or Care Health Center in Jersey Shore.

Born March 7, 1929 in Jersey Shore, he was the son of Warren A. Buttor
ff Sr. and the former Sarah E. Geisewhite.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife the former Beverly Jane Welshan
s on June 29, 2010. They were united in marriage May 24 1948.

Earlier in his life he was employed by Piper Aircraft and was employe
d by Buttorff Plumbing and Heating for many years.

For many years he was an active member of the Grace Lutheran Church, L
aBelle Vallee Lodge #232 F. &A.M. of Jersey Shore and the Williamspor
t Consistory.

Bill served as Porter Township Supervisor for 37 years, and also serve
d on the Jersey Shore Cemetery Board of Directors.

Surviving are a son David W. (Cynthia) Buttorff of Jersey Shore an
d a daughter Sharon L. (Steven) Snook of Rauchtown; four grandchildre
and three great grandchildren; a brother John O. Buttorff of Jerse
y Shore and a sister Mary L. Friggle of Philadelphia.

Bill was preceded in death by a son Steven H. Buttorff on Sept. 12, 20
06; a sister Edith Poet and three brothers Warren Jr., Robert and Ches
ter. Memorial services will be Saturday Feb. 18, 2012 at 1 p.m. in th
e Grace Lutheran Church, corner of Maple and Walnut Streets in Jerse
y Shore. Rev. Kerry Aucker will officiate.

Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cemetery at the convenience of th
e family.

Family will provide flowers and suggest memorial contributions be mad
e in his name to the Grace Lutheran Church, or to the Susquehanna Heal
th Cancer Treatment Center, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport Pa. 1770

Beverly Jane Buttorff, 80, of 453 Oliver St., Jersey Shore, died Tuesd
ay morning, June 29, 2010, at the Gatehouse.

Born May 25, 1930, in Rauchtown, she was the daughter of Frank H. Wels
hans and the former Ida E. Gamble.

Beverly is survived by her husband William H. Buttorff; they were unit
ed in marriage May 24, 1948.

For many years she was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and was r
etired from the West Co. in Jersey Shore.

Also surviving is a son, David W. (Cynthia) Buttorff of Jersey Shore
; a daughter, Sharon L. (Steven) Snook of Rauchtown; seven grandchildr
en; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mavis Rauch of Bastress an
d Sharon Lamey of Rauchtown; and seven brothers, Merrill Welshans of C
ollomsville, Richard Welshans of Jersey Shore, Barry Welshans of McElh
attan, Paul Welshans of Jersey Shore, Lewis Welshans of Rauchtown, Sta
ley Welshans of Jersey Shore and Buddy Welshans of Williamsport.

Beverly was preceded in death by a son, Steven H. Buttorff, Septembe
12, 2006; a sister, Nancy Shadle; and two brothers, Bill and Larry W
elshans.

Graveside memorial services will be Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 11 a.m
. in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. Rev. Ralph Heagy, her pastor, will off
iciate. Memorial contributions can be made to the Susquehanna Home Car
e and Hospice, the Gatehouse, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17
701 or the Grace Lutheran Church, corner of Maple and Walnut streets
