    , 71, of Howard, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Hershey Medical Ce
    ter. He was born June 8, 1941, the son of the late Charles and Floren
    ce Miller McClain. He was a 1959 graduate of Walker Township High Scho
    ol. On July 12, 1974, he married Martha Stover McClain, they had jus
    t celebrated their 38th anniversary. Irvin was employed by Corning Gla
    ss for 25 years and was also a self-employed tractor mechanic. He wa
    s a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Snydertown. He was a member o
    f several machinery associations, served as a board member and preside
    t with several antique associations as well. He was a member of LaFay
    ette Lodge 0199 of the Free and Accepted Masons. He enjoyed hunting, f
    ishing, camping, boating and tractor pulls. In addition to his wife, h
    e is survived by one daughter, Lisa (Kent) Miller; three sons, Kent (L
    aura Thorpe), Douglas (Beth) and Irvin Jr. (Eileen); five grandchildre
    ; two great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; one sister, Char
    lene Strouse; and two brothers, Charles and Donald McClain. He was pre
    ceded in death by one granddaughter, Ashley McClain. Visitation will b
    e held Sunday, August 5, 2012, from 4-8 p.m., at Kader-Neff Funeral Ho
    me, 135 W. Main Street, Howard and for one hour prior to the service M
    onday, at the church. Funeral service will be Monday, August 6, 2012
    , 11 a.m., at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, w
    ith the Rev. Ruth Kocha Jensen officiating. Burial will be at Hublersb

    Irvin L. McClain Sr., 71, of Howard, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, a
    t Hershey Medical Center.

    He was born on June 8, 1941 , a son of the late Charles and Florence M
    iller McClain.

    On July 12, 1974, he married Martha Stover McClain. They just celebrat
    ed their 38th wedding anniversary.

    He was a 1959 graduate of Walker Township High School.

    Irvin was employed by Corning Glass for 25 years and was also a self-e
    mployed tractor mechanic.

    He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Snydertown.

    Irvin was a member of several machinery associations and served as boa

    Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa (Kent) Miller; th

    ; a sister, Charlene Strouse; two brothers, Charles and Donald McClain
    ; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two great-grandchil
    dren.

    A granddaughter, Ashley McClain, preceded him in death.

    The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at St. Mark Luthe
    an Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, with the Rev. Ruth Kocha Jens
    en officiating. Burial will be in Hublersburg Cemetery, @047.

    Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kinder-Neff Funeral Home
    , 135 W. Main St., Howard and one hour prior to the funeral on Monda
    y at St. Mark Church.

    June E. Stover October 17, 1918 - September 18, 2004 June E. Stover, 85, of Nittany, went home to the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at the Mount Nittany Medical Centre, State College, Centre Co, PA Born Oct. 17, 1918, in Oak Lane, Montgomery Co, she was a daughter of the late F. Glenn and Mabel Tomb Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman E. Stover, who passed away in May 1970. She was a graduate of Walker Twp High School in 1936. After graduation she entered the Lock Haven Teacher's College, graduating in 1938. Her first teaching job was at the Hublersburg Primary School in 1938-1939, where she ta
    ught grades 1 through 5. In 1939-1940, she taught grades 1 through 8 at the Franklin School. She taught third grade in Ferguson Twp, Pine Grove Mills, from 1940 to 1945. She operated Stover's Greenhouse in Nittany for more than 40 years. She enjoyed crocheting, music, playing the organ and the accordion, which she played in a family band for many years. She was a very avid Phillies fan and enjoyed spending time with her family. June was a member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church in Snydertown, where she had been the church organist and had been very active in the Willing Workers Class. She is survived by three daughters
    , Doris Stover, Martha McClain and her husband Irvin, and Linda Stover, all of Nittany; three sons, Ron Stover and his wife, Penny, Carl Stover and his wife, Patricia, all of Nittany, and Wayne Stover and his wife Patricia, of Montoursville; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Marian Ream, of Boalsburg and Helen Miller, of Nittany. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, F. Glenn Rogers. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 W. Main St., Howard. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Howard, with her minister, the Rev. Jean Horman, officiating. Burial will be in Hublersburg Cemetery, @047. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 773 Snydertown Road, Howard, PA 16841.
