19301 | Russell S. Lupold POSTED: October 25, 2009 VETERAN Russell S. "Lum" Lupold, 91, of New Columbia, died unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at home. Born June 17, 1918, near Carroll, he was a son of the late Harvey C. and Carrie Mae (Barner) Lupold. His wife of 50 years, the former Dorothy H. Frederick, preceded him in death on June 19, 1996. Russell retired from Susquehanna Motors in 1984, where he worked as a mechanic and Service Manager. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Burial with full military honors will follow in Uniontown Cemetery, Allenwood. The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Warrior Run Area Fire Dept., P. 19302 | Ryan da Costa-Miller Obituary State College, Pennysylvania--Ryan unexpectedly passed away on April 17, 2023 at the age of 31. Ryan was born in State College and was baptized at the St. John United Church of Christ in Tylersville, Pennsylvania on June 28, 1992. Ryan attended State College Area High School and Penn State. He was awarded the Diversified Occupation Outstanding Student award. While at Penn State he became a brother of Alpha Rho Chi and cherished being a part of the APX family as well as participating in THON activities. On October 3, 2020, he married the love of his life, Rondinelle da Costa-Miller in Central Park. Ryan had an infectious smile, striking blue eyes, and a contiguous laugh that captured everyone's hearts. He loved to travel, especially to New York City, and try new foods. He was adventurous, unapologetically himself, outspoken, and the life of every party. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping at Hills Creek. He was the reigning champ at Skip-Bo and Super Smash Bros. and looked forward to the annual bow shoot. Ryan strived to be a friend to any animal he came across on his journeys. Most of all, he loved the time he spent with his family and friends. For 16 years Ryan gave his best at Wegmans serving as cashier, produce member, store operations intern, service desk member, coffee barista, seafood associate, cookie decorator, bread baker, baking team leader, sub shop team leader, service team leader, and most recently, bake shop team leader. Ryan is survived by those who he loved and who also loved him to the moon and back, his husband, Rondinelle da Costa-Miller. His father, Larry Miller. His mother, Crystal (Bressler), and stepfather, John Switalski. His brother, Martin and sister, Olivia Switalski. His mother-in-law, Maria Geralda Dutra da Costa and brother-in-law, Riccelly da Costa of Brazil. His Uncles, Richard Miller, David Miller (Wendy), Michael Miller, all of Tylersville, Steven Miller, of Lock Haven, Peter Switalski (Carolee) of Gibsonia, Paul Switalski of New York; Aunts, Nicole Bressler (Rob), of Millheim, Gwendolyn Hayes (George), of Tylersville, and Cheryl Calzada, of Loganton; Ann Miller (Bary) of Oregon; Mary Meres (John) of Virginia. He is also survived by numerous cousins that he loved creating memories with. Ryan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Richard T. Miller, Jr. and Floretta (Guisewite) Miller. Ryan, we will miss you, your smile, your hugs, your laughter, your charisma, your way of being, your way of speaking, and persistence with learning Brazilian culture. 19347 | Services for Marvin Barner, 52, a Niagara Avenue resident, were held today in the Rhoney Funeral Home. Burial was in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton. Barner was pronounced dead on arrival Tuesday (March 21, 1989) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after apparently suffering a heart attack in a store at Hills Plaza, Town of Niagara. Born in Bellefonte, Pa., he moved to Niagara Falls in 1976. He served in the Army from 1959 to 1961, including 18 months in West Germany as a member of the Military Police. He was a former employee of International Paper Co. He also worked as a carpenter. His wife, Karen Adams Barner, died in 1980.
