A chapel service for Jacqueline Marlene Phipps, 57, of Sutherlin wil
l be held at
2pm on Wednesday, May 12 at Coos Bay Chapel. The Rev. Ron Moore wil
l officate.
Inurnment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
Mrs. Phipps was born 22 Apr 1942 in North Bend. She died 7 May 1999 i
Sutherlin of cancer.
She married Richard Phipps in 1961 in her grandmother's home in Coos B
ay.
Mrs. Phipps lived in the Coos Bay-North Bend area for 30 years and ha
d lived in
Douglas County for the past 10 years.
She belonged to TOPS, and was a member of the Moose Lodge in North Ben
. She was involved in the 1960 census.
Mrs. Phipps loved the outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, baking, collec
ting
knicknacks, writing letters and traveling. She was a good listener an
d gave
good advice.
She was a loving wife and mother. She was more than a wife, she wa
s a friend.
She had many longtime friends.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Phipps of Sutherlin, daughte
Jeana and husband, Mike Bossen of Coos Bay; sons, Duane Phipps of Gl
ide and Glenn Phippsof Roseburg; sister, Dorothy Thomson of Coos Bay
, brother, Isaac and wife Debra Barner of Roseburg; grandchildren Bess
ie Kramer, Barbara and Brenda Phipps, Jeremiah Bossen, Cody, Brianna a
d Dakota Phipps, Kristin and Andrew Osban and Kylei; special niece an
d nephew, Laurie and Jim Thomson; nieces, Lisa, Meagan and Alexandria
, and great-niece Mariah.
