Ronald W. ‘Moon’ Barner
LEWISTOWN - Ronald W. “Moon” Barner, 59, of 4 Bird In Hand Drive, Lewi
stown, died 4:50 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2006, at his residence.
Born Sept. 5, 1946, in Mifflin, he was a son of Arlene (Swartz) Barner
, of Mt. Rock Commons, and the late Melvern Barner. His wife, Tina Sha
wver Barner, whom he married in 2002, survives.
Also surviving are his children, Rhonda Barner, Beavertown, Jason Barn
er, Beavertown, Melinda Kratzer, Middleburg; stepchildren Derrick Hain
es, Lewistown, Chad Haines, Lewistown; brothers John Barner and wife J
oan, Beavertown, Lester Barner, Lewistown; sisters Blanche Riden and h
usband Mike, Lewistown, Maxine Zook and husband Lenard, Mifflin; grand
children Brandy, Kristen, Cameron, Dion, Nicholas and great-grandson J
ames.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Vonnie Ridley.
He worked for Garrison Trucking, the PA Department of Transportation a
d Juniata Concrete.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 143, Lewistown, and loved fishi
g, hunting and Nascar.
His funeral will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, at Barr Funera
l Home Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Robert Nilram off
iciating. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Bar
Funeral Home. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Ronald Barner

Mr. Barner was employed by Garrison Trucking, PennDOT and Juniata Conc
ete.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 143, Lewistown.
Moon loved to fish and hunt and was a NASCAR fan.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are three children, Rho
da and Jason Barner of Beavertown and Melinda Kratzer of Middleburg
; two stepsons, Derrick and Chad Haines, both of Lewistown; two brothe
s and one sister-in-law, John and Joan Barner of Beavertown and Leste
Barner of Lewistown; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Blanche and Mi
ke Riden of Lewistown and Maxine and Lenard Zook of Mifflin; five gran
dchildren, Brandy, Kristen, Cameron, Dion and Nicholas; and one great-
grandson, James.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Vonnie Ridley.
Visitors may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the Barr Funeral Home Inc., 1
20 Logan St., Lewistown. The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. F
iday at the funeral home by the Rev. Robert Nilram.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
