Loretta J. Aucker, 77, Mt. Pleasant Mills

- MT. PLEASANT MILLS -- Loretta J. Aucker, 77, of Mt. Pleasant Mills
, went Home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008
, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 5, 1931, in Bannerville, Snyder Co, a daughter of th
e late Leslie Taft and Josephine Elizabeth (Wagner) Barner. On Nov. 26
, 1948, she married Park R. "Shorty" Aucker, who survives. Her passin
g breaks a loving marital union of 60 years.
She retired after working 40 years as a seamstress for the former Rich
field Shirt Factory.
Loretta was a lifelong member of the Richfield United Methodist Churc
h and its Queen Esther Sunday school class, and was a member of the Ri
chfield Women's Club for more than 50 years.
Loretta cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoye
d playing cards, especially pinochle. She was also skilled in embroide
y work.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by one son and dau
ghter-in-law, John L. and Barbara E. Aucker of Beavertown; one daughte
, Connie D. Weber of Middleburg; one son-in-law, William Weber II; fi
ve grandchildren and their spouses, Brian E. Aucker, John L. II and Ki
ley Aucker, Nichole D. and Dane Hockenbrock, William "Skip" III and Mi
chelle Weber, and Thaddeus J. Weber; five great-grandchildren, Paige M
ae Aucker, Olivia and Nora Hockenbrock, William "Liam" Weber, IV, an
d Alejandra Weber; one brother, Robert W. Barner of Richfield; one sis
ter, Beatrice E. Day of Sellersville; many nephews and nieces; and tw
o sisters-in-law, Virginia Hornberger of Richfield, and Mildred Bende
and husband, Ron of Akron, OH.
She was preceded by one brother, Donald Barner in early childhood.
The family will receive friends for the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Sat
urday followed by a funeral service at 11, at the Richfield United Met
hodist Church, Church Street, Richfield, with her pastor, the Rev. Ver
on E. Shenberger officiating .
Burial will be made in the Richfield Union Cemetery.
