Hazel M. Barner, 90, Lewisburg

LEWISBURG - Hazel M. Barner, 90, of 3585 Crossroads Drive, passed awa
y on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at RiverWoods, Lewisburg.
She was born Nov. 28, 1920, in New Columbia, a daughter of the late Ha
y T. and Laura A. (Stark) Baumer. On Jan. 2, 1942, she married Ear
l B. Barner who preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 2003, after 61 year
s of marriage.
A member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Milton, Hazel taugh
t Sunday school for over 20 years and was a member of the Jolly Girl
s Sunday school class. She was a member of the former Chapter 7, Easte
Star, Milton.
In her spare time she was a volunteer room mother in the Lewisburg pub
lic schools. Hazel also enjoyed growing flowers.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald B. and Jill Barner o
f Manchester, Md.; one daughter, Judy A. Berkheimer of Danville; one b
other, Robert D. Baumer of Yankton, S.D.; four grandchildren; and eig
ht great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by one daug
hter, Connie L. Byers in 1994, five brothers, George, Harry, Budd, Ken
eth and Joseph Baumer, and three sisters, Mabel Baumer, Helen Weise
and Cora Danowsky.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Lewisburg.
Contributions in Hazel’s memory may be made to St. Andrew’s United Met
hodist Church, 102 Lower Market St., Milton, PA 17847.
The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, So
uth Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
