MONT ALTO, Pa. - Mildred M. Ruth Alleman, 74, of 3 Aspen Drive, died F
iday, May 21, 1999, at Manor Care Health Services in Chambersburg, wh
ere she was a guest since April 1.
Born Sept. 8, 1924, in Newburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the lat
e William M. and Susan Barner Ruth.
She was a 1941 graduate of Shippensburg High School, Shippensburg, Pa.
Prior to her marriage, she worked at Carlisle Army Barracks, Shippensb
urg Shirt Factory and Beistel Co. and Novelties in Shippensburg. Afte
her marriage she was a homemaker and seamstress in her home.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, Pa.
, where she was active on many committees and was past chairwoman of U
ited Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harry G. Alleman; two daug
hters, Roxann S. Alleman of Tucson, Ariz. and Gretchen Wills of Sykesv
ille, Md.; two sons, Terry L Alleman of Ephrata, Pa., and William M. A
lleman of York, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Ruth, John Ruth a
d Richard Ruth; and one grandson.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Christ United Methodis
t Church, 6 W. Second St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Jay E. Zimmerman wil
l officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funer
al Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro, and Monday at the church one h
our prior to services.
