L. Edna Thomas, 81, passed away Monday,
Oct. 25, 2010, at her residence on S.
Broad St., Jersey Shore, surrounded by her
family. She was born in Jersey Shore, April
4, 1929, a daughter of Ernest L. and Eva
Mae Fulkrod Kreitz Sr. She was a Jersey
Shore High School graduate and married
Ralph A. Thomas Jr., who passed away
June 2, 1986. She was employed many
years as a secretary with the former Alcan
Central Cable and was cashier at the Jersey
Shore High School cafeteria. She was a
member and the former treasurer of St.
John's Lutheran Church, Jersey Shore. Her
survivors include four sons, Robert C., Michael
E. (Julie), and David R., all of Jersey
Shore, and James L., of the Pine Creek Valley;
11 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren;
her sisters-in-law, Marian
Kreitz, Betty Geyer and Gladys Overdurf;
and her brother-in-law, Robert Thomas.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at
the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Jersey
Shore. Interment will be held in Jersey
Shore Cemetery.

She was born in Jersey Shore, April 4, 1929, a daughter of Ernest L. a
d Eva Mae Fulkrod Kreitz Sr. She was a Jersey Shore High School gradu
ate and married Ralph A. Thomas Jr., who passed away June 2, 1986. Sh
e was employed many years as a secretary with the former Alcan Centra
l Cable and was cashier at the Jersey Shore High School cafeteria. Sh
e was a member and the former treasurer of St. John's Lutheran Church
, Jersey Shore. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her g
andchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her survivors include four sons, Robert C., Michael E. (Julie), and Da
vid R., all of Jersey Shore, and James L., of the Pine Creek Valley; 1
1 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-laws, Maria
Kreitz, Betty Geyer and Gladys Overdurf; and her brother-in-law, Rob
ert Thomas.
Edna's "Life Celebration" will begin with a visitation on Thursday fro
m 10 to 11 a.m. at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, "A Life Celebra
tion Home," 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, where services will foll
ow at 11 a.m. with her pastor, Rev. Kerry Aucker, officiating. Interme
t will be held in Jersey Shore Cemetery. Her family suggests contribu
tions be made to the building fund of St. John's Lutheran Church, 22
