Pearl L. Lehman, 94, of Northumberland, formerly of Hilbish Heights, l
ater Oak Park and at the Lewis Building, passed away on Wednesday, Feb
. 28, 2018, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland, where she had bee
a resident.
She was born July 21, 1923, in Lamar, a daughter of the late Grover Cl
evland and Nancy Elizabeth Barner. On Aug. 5, 1944, she married Reed F
. Lehman who preceded her in death on April 21, 2003.
Pearl attended Mill Hall High School.
She was a fly tier for the Pequea Fish Hook Factory in Loganton and la
ter became a manager for W.T. Grants, Sunbury.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Northumberland wh
ere she used her knitting talents for the Guidepost Project, Knit fo
Kids.
Along with her passion for knitting, Pearl also enjoyed playing bing
o and working on puzzles.
She is survived by her son, Robert L. Lehman of Sunbury; three grandso
s, Chad Lehman and wife Nicole of Virginia, Justin Lehman of Duncanno
, and Brock Lehman and wife Beth of Sunbury; four great-grandchildren
, Cameron, Alexander, Addison and Jackson; and one brother and sister-
in-law, Jimmy H. and Sandra Barner of Mill Hall.
In addition to her parents and husband of 58 years, she was preceded i
death by one daughter, Jeanne M. Karchner; two sisters, Betty Haffle
y and Marie Rogers; and four brothers, Clifford, Raymond, Grover and G
ordon Barner.
Friends and family may call from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Monday where a servic
e of the Eastern Star will follow at 7:45, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tues
day, followed by the funeral at 11, at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Hom
e, 210 King St., Northumberland, with Pastor Leslie Halchak officiatin
g.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
