Donald Millar Laws
Age 53 of Townsend, DE passed away after a long illness on Wednesday
, September 28, 2005, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Born May 9, 1952 in Wilmington, DE. Donny co-owned and operated L&M Fu
els, Inc. and D&W Trucking, Inc. He graduated from Middletown High Sch
ool in 1970 and attended the University of Delaware. He was a member o
f the Brandywine Rod and Gun Club, Delaware Farm Bureau and the Delawa
e Standardbred Owners Association. He owned, trained and drove harnes
s horses most of his life. He always gave without asking for anythin
g in return. He loved living and everyone he met and always thought th
e best of everyone. He never made an enemy. His cup always being hal
f full, he only considered the "best case scenario." "Here I come, Ala
and Alice."
Donny is survived by his wife, Ellie Laws; his children, Keri and Bran
don, both at home; his parents, Jean and Charles R. "Chum" Laws; 3 bro
thers, Rick Laws and his wife, Marie, of Clayton, DE, Bill Laws and Ro
Laws, both of Middletown, DE; 2 sisters, Kathy Wade of FL and Jenn
y Ostberg and her husband, Jeff, of ME; his in-laws, George and Joan D
alphon, Mom Mom Jennie of Smyrna, DE and George and MT Dalphon of Elkt
on, MD; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sist
er, Alice.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 8th, at th
e Boondocks Restaurant, 825 Lighthouse Road, Smyrna, DE. Friends may c
all from 11 am to 12:30 pm. A brief service will be held at 12:30 pm w
ith a luncheon immediately following. Everyone is invited to come an
d share their memories of Donny.
