Obituary for Mrs. Janis Barner Pankoski
Mrs. Janis Barner Pankoski, age 70 of Rockmart passed away on Tuesday
, January 17, 2017.
Mrs. Pankoski was born December 10, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas, daughte
of the late Foster Ward Barner and the late Alice Irene Hall Barner
. She was a graduate of the Abraham Lincoln High School of Denver, Col
orado and earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Kennesaw State U
iversity in 1974. Mrs. Pankoski retired in 2005 from Wellstar Kennest
one Hospital having worked in labor and delivery. She enjoyed paintin
g and traveling to London, England. She had a great love for her famil
y and her dog, Maggie. Mrs. Pankoski also loved reading and old classi
c movies, with her favorite show being Coronation Street.
Survivors include her husband, Gregory Albert Pankoski of Rockmart t
o whom she was married January 30, 1965; daughter, Rebecca Lyn Easse
y and her husband, Edward Eassey of Jackson; son, Ward Lee Pankoski an
d his wife, Barbara McGee Pankoski of Dallas; two grandchildren, Loga
Foster Pankoski and Haley Elizabeth Pankoski also survive.
A celebration of life for Mrs. Pankoski will be held on Saturday, Janu
ary 21st at the Freeman Harris Funeral Home between the hours of 11:0
0 am and 3:00 p.m.
