Notes |
- William and three brothers and their wives mitrated with ox teams, crossing Cayuga Lake on the ice in the month of March, a dangerous undertaking at that season of the year. Daniel and William settled first in Richmond, Ontario Co, where they remained from 1793 to 1811, when they went to Lima, NY, then known as Charleston. They traveled by marked trees, as there ws then only one road - the old road from Albany to Buffalo - in this section.
