He died at home at 12:30 a.m. Thursday at the age of 69 years, 0 month
s, 13 days. He was a member of the Williamsport Municipal Airport Auth
ority for 14 years. He was a former city firefighter, was founder an
d owner of Sedco Manufacturing Company, South Williamsport, and wa
s a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. A member of th
e Navy Seabees during World War II, he was a member of Leroy O. Buck P
ost 7863, Veterans of Foreign Wars, DuBoistown. He was a member of Chu
ch of Ascension. A former officer of the Knights of Columbus, Counci
l 366. He was also a fourth degree member of Father Rechsteiner Genera
l Assembly. He also was a former vice president of the Wheel Club, an
d was a member of the Oaks Club, Republican League, Young Men's Republ
ican Club, Young Men's Democratic Club, Keystone League, Newberry Inde
pendent Club and Williamsport Elks Lodge 970. Mr. Ohnmeiss was a spons
or of West End Babe Ruth and American Legions Baseball for the last 1
6 years. He and his wife, the former Elizabeth A. Skowronski, observe
d their 45th wedding anniversary last November 7th. He was a son of Ro
bert L. Ohnmeiss and Margaret (Murnane) Ohnmeiss. Surviving, besides h
is wife, are a son and a daughter, Dennis C. and Miss Sharon A. Ohnmei
ss, both of this city; two brothers, Paul F., of Baltimore Maryland, a
d Joseph A., of Staten Island, New York, and three sisters, Mrs. Marg
uerite T. Norris, of this city, Mrs. Mary Ellen Coull, of Norfolk, Vir
ginia., and Mrs. Lucille Hudson, of Virginia Beach, Virginia. The fune
al was held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
