    He was born in Juniata County to the late George E. and L. Dorothy Bar
    er.
    He was a 1949 graduate of Greenwood High School and joined the Army i
    1952.
    Surviving are his wife, Uschi; three sons, Peter, Robert and Dennis Ba
    er; two sisters, Laura DePaolis of Butler and Karen Barner of Lewisb
    urg; a brother, Michael Barner of Liverpool; and two nieces and one ne
    phew.
    Burial was Dec. 20 in Germany.
