BURNHAM - Mildred I. Shellenberger, 94, a resident of Ohesson Manor Nu
sing Home and formerly of 535 E. Freedom Ave., Burnham died at 4:15 p
.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at the nursing home.
Born March 4, 1910, in Academia, Juniata Co, she was a daughter of th
e late Ira Hutton and Arabelle (Barton) Kilmer. Her husband, Arthur Ba
er Shellenberger Sr., preceded her in death in 1967.
Surviving are children: Arthur B. Shellenberger Jr., of Lewistown, Bet
ty I. Eby and husband Robert of Reedsville, D. Jean Minsker and husban
d Barry of Lewes, Del.; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildre
and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was employed as kitchen help at Riden’s Restaurant and early in li
fe at American Viscose Corp.
A member of Yeagertown United Methodist Church for over 65 years, an
d the Sunday School Class 9 of the church, also the Pensioneer’s Club
, United Commercial Travelers and Lewistown Senior Citizens.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, at the Hoensti
e Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown with Rev. Thomas B. Mor
ingstar officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends from 6-8, Sunday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Yeag
ertown United Methodist Church, Mann Ave., Yeagertown, PA 17099 and th
e American Heart Assoc., 501 Howard Ave., Bldg. D, Altoona, PA 16601.
