Dorsey S. Dunlap, 93, of 136 Elm St., South Williamsport, died Wednesd
ay, Sept. 24, 2003, at his home. Dorsey was a self-employed invento
and enjoyed hunting, inventing and rides to the farm in Nisbet on wh
ich he was raised. Born March 8, 1910, in Duboistown, he was the so
of Samuel and Margaret Knauff Dunlap. Surviving are his wife, the f
ormer Maxine S. Simon; daughters Leona Washburn of Huddleston, Va., an
d Joy Crossley of Beacon Falls, Conn.; sisters Evelyn Kimble of Willia
msport and Mary Brown of Montoursville; seven grandchildren; and ten g
eat-grandchildren. Dorsey was predeceased by a son, Joe Wilson, a br
other, Herman Dunlap, and a sister, Bernice Yost. Funeral services wil
l be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave

Jean E. Keiler, 85, of Jersey Shore, died Thursday, April 11, 2002, a
t Manor Care Jersey
Shore, where she had been a guest since Fall, 2000.
She was born March 6, 1917, in Jersey Shore, a daughter of John H. an
d Mary Barner Furl.
She was a 1935 Graduate of Jersey Shore High School and received an LP
N degree from the
former Williamsport Tech.
She was married in Sept., 1937, to Kenneth E. Keiler, who died Aug. 21
, 1985.
She was a nurse at the Jersey Shore Hospital and also a private duty n
urse.
Jean was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, where she had tau
ght children's
Sunday School. She was a Past Matron of the Ivanhoe Chapter of the Ord
er of the Eastern Star,
a member of the White Shrine, Antes Fort Chapter of DAR and a voluntee
of the American Red
Cross. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading.
She is survived by a daughter, Peggy A. Welshans of Jersey Shore; thre
e grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Jean Katov in Feb., 1989.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John's Lutheran Churc
h Chapel with her pastor,
Rev. Kerry Aucker, officiating. Burial will be in the Jersey Shore Cem
etery.

Mary Lou Boatman, 77, of Allentown, died Aug. 15 in her home.
She was the wife of Clair E. Boatman. They observed their 58th weddin
g anniversary on March 1.
Born in Jersey Shore, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Mar
y E. (Barner) Furl.
She was a member of Hope United Church of Christ in Allentown. She wa
s also a member of the GMC Colonial Travelers and the Lehigh County Se
ior Citizens Center. She was a past member of the Phoebe Home Auxilia
y.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Cynthia, wife of William Kr
ause of Allentown; a sister, Leila Hiller of Jersey Shore; grandchildr

bor, Fla.; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Vernon K. Shaffer, 85, of Muhlenberg Twp, died Jan. 17, 2008 at 12:2
0 a.m. in the Phoebe-Berks Healthcare Center, where he had resided since June 26, 2007.

He was the husband of the late Gladys V. (Houp) Shaffer, who died March 22, 1993.

Born in Loganton, he was a son of the late Glenn C. and Kathryn (Klecker) Shaffer.

He was a Berks County Commissioner for 24 years. He held the longest service record of any county commissioner in PA.

He was a captain in the U.S. Air Force and a veteran of World War II.

He was a member of One United Church of Christ, Kenhorst. He was a former Elder of Good Shepherd U.C.C. - Tuckerton, past president of the PA Game Commission and a member of Locust Ridge Hunting Camp, Clinton County. He was very active in the Republican Party and was campaign manager for Raymond Shafer in his bid for governor of PA. He was a pioneer in the development of the Berks County Parks System and assisted i the moving of the Gruber Wagon Works. He was a former member of the Muhlenberg Rotary Club and a former 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and conservationist. He also held his instructor’s pilot license and operated Shaffer’s Ariel Advertising, attended University of Wisconsin and was a secretary of the Muhlenbeg Twp Authority.

He is survived by a daughter, the Rev. Cheryl L. Moore of Shillington; a son, Ron V. (Judy) Shaffer of West Reading; a brother, Duane Shaffer of Clinton County; and two grandsons, Aaron I. Moore and Seth A. Moore. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Shaffer. He is also survived by a companion, Ingrid Breitenstein of Muhlenberg Twp.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 at 10 a.m. at One United Church of Christ, 1730 New Holland Rd., Kenhorst, with the Rev. Pamela C. Fischer officiating. Interment with military honors will be i Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Twp. Viewing will be Friday, Jan. 25, 2008 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1 East Lancaster Ave., Shillington, and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.

Dale E. Kleckner

Dale E. Kleckner, 87, of Howard, passed away on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 a
t Haven Skilled Rehabilitation, Lock Haven.

He was born on Dec. 16, 1930 a son of the late W. Eldon and Bessie Emi
line Strunk Kleckner.

On June 7, 1952 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Lavo
Miller Kleckner who survives at their home in Howard.

Dale proudly served his country as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy. He was a
avid hunter and fisherman.

He served his community as a life member of the Beech Creek/ Blanchar
d Fire Company serving as Chief for 15 years. He was also one of the f
irst group of EMTs with the company. Dale also served on the Beech Cre
ek Borough Council for 16 years. He was a member of the Blanchard Chur
ch of Christ.

Along with his wife he is survived by two daughters, Karen (Steven) He
verly, of Howard, and Susan (Michael) Young, of Beech Creek; two sons
, Duane (Andrea) Kleckner, of Beech Creek, and Kenneth (Beth) Kleckner
, of Blanchard, and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Kleckner, of Mill Hall
. Also surviving is his sister, Marjorie Hills, of Beech Creek and hi
s nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his son, Stephen Kleckner in 2017.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, Nov. 5
, 2018 at 8 p.m. at the Blanchard Church of Christ, Beach Street, Blan
chard with Pastor Wally Kocher officiating. Friends will be received a

She was a member of the D.A.R. and was a very accomplished and gifted genealogist.

Mary was a member and former treasurer of the Sugar Valley Historical Society.

She enjoyed gardening and sewing.

Her survivors include her daughters, Karen E. (Rev. Dr. Kerry) Aucke of Lock Haven and Sandra K. Hoffer of Jersey Shore; a brother, Fredrick R. (Therese) Hoffer of S. Hampton, MA; five grandchildren, Laughlin, Thaddeus, Fredrick, Teresa and Becky, along with 6 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.

Doyle C. Lamey

Doyle C. Lamey, 74, formerly of Loganton, entered into rest Friday, No
v. 4, 2005 in the Susque-View Home in Lock Haven.
Born Jan. 22, 1931 in Loganton, he was the son of Harry E. (Sol) Lame
y and the former Edna E. Kleckner.
He is survived by his wife, the former Doris J. Brungard, they were un
ited in marriage Sept. 4, 1953 in Loganton.
Doyle was a 949 graduate of the Sugar Valley Highschool, he then enlis
ted in the United States Army in 1953 and was a member of the First In
fantry Division Band.
The band appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1955. Doyle worked for Ti
tan Metal in Bellefonte for 16 years and later was an agent for Americ
an General Insurance for 12 years.
He retired from Valley Sheet Metal in 1992. He owned and operated Lame
y’s Repair Shop in Loganton from 1964 until 2000.
He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking and was a certified gunsmith.
For many years Doyle was a member of the Saint Paul Lutheran Church i
Loganton.
Surviving are two sons, Denis C. Lamey and wife Deborah of Loganton an
d Douglas J. Lamey Sr. and wife Betty of Flemington; one daughter, Don
a J. Walizer and husband Geary of Lock Haven; two grandsons; three gr
anddaughters; one step-granddaughter; one brother, Harold Lamey of Rau
chtown; two sisters, Mary Hoffer of Jersey Shore and Jean Lamey of Log
anton.
His mother, father and a grandson preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Way

Jean was born Nov. 28, 1934 in Loganton, a daughter of the late Harr

She was married to George F. Lamey on Dec. 15, 1951. He preceded her i
death on March 22, 2000.

Jean was formerly employed by Susque-View Home during the 1970s. She w
as a school bus driver for over 30 years for Kephart's, Schrack's an
d Susquehanna Transit. She was also a cook for the Pepper Run Huntin
g Club for many years.

Jean also loved sitting on her front porch and "gossiping" with friend
s. She was also a fine seamstress and avid quilter.

Jean also served on the election board and zoning-hearing board for ma
y years and belonged to the Sugar Valley Vol. Fire Co. #13, ladies au
xiliary.

Jean is survived by three daughters, Cindy (Danny) Smith of Spring Mil
ls; Sheryl (Bill) Kerstetter; and Melanie (Mike) Karchner, both of Log
anton, a son, Dan (Lynn) Lamey of Loganton, a sister, Mary (Dean) Hoff
er Munro of Jersey Shore and a brother, Harold (Sharon) Lamey of Rauch
town.

Jean was also blessed by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren an
d six step great-grandchildren.

The funeral services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 11 a.m

Eisenhower for over 60 years before his passing on November 15, 2007. Born in Loganton, PA, Doris was the daughter of the late Charles Lamey, and Beryl (Kleckner). Doris was a graduate of Sugar Valley High school, and went on to work in the Jewelry Department at Boscov’s as well as a snack bar attendant for the drive-ins, in Mt. Penn and Sinking Spring. Surviving Doris is her son, Michael D. Eisenhower, husband of Gwen C. of Sinking Spring, grandson, Michael Eisenhower Jr, husband of Nelly, and great grandsons, Jacob and Samuel Eisenhower. In addition to her husband and parents, Doris is predeceased by her twin sister, Lois Barrett, and her brother William Lamey. Funeral service for Doris will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. Albert H. Campbell Jr.

Albert H. Campbell Jr., 82, formerly of Reservoir Road, Muncy, and cur
ently a resident at Elmcroft, Montoursville, died Sunday, June 29, 20
08, at the Gatehouse in Williamsport.

Born May 10, 1926, in Monaca, Beaver Co, he was one of 14 children bor
to the late Albert H. Sr. and Alice (Hammerstein) Campbell.

On October 28, 1946, he married the former Claire M. Summer. Her deat
h on April 28, 1999, ended a 52-year marital union.

A U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, he served on a sub chaser in th
e North Atlantic.

Al's first civilian job was with the former Spencer Heater Foundry i
Williamsport. From there he went to work for the former Thomas Boyl
e Bottling Co, Williamsport, and later worked for Stroehmann's Baker
y as a salesman for 32 years, retiring in December 1987.

His woodworking talents were greatly admired, and Al lovingly hand mad
e several gun racks, grandfather clocks and cabinets. Together he an
d his wife tended their vegetable garden and canned their produce. H
e enjoyed traveling and dancing, and possessed a marvelous sense of hu
mor. Al could tell a good story, and did a good job of keeping the nur
ses in stitches. He was also a dedicated Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

Al was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Muncy.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Russell E. and Linda Campbe
ll of Muncy; three sisters, Patricia Davenport and twins Joyce and Jac
queline Campbell, all of Williamsport; five brothers, Allen Campbell o
f Johnstown, Louis Campbell of Buffalo, N.Y., Charles Campbell of Flor
ida, Franklin Campbell of OH and Paul Campbell of Selinsgrove; four gr
andchildren, Elizabeth McKenna, Brian Preston-Campbell, Victoria Killo
an and Benjamin Williams; and six great-grandchildren, Nathan, Ryan a
d Colin McKenna, Ian and Caleb Preston-Campbell and Lia Killoran.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Alberta Gibbs, Esther Lusk and Sh
irley Wagner; and two brothers, Richard and Russell Campbell.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, at Grenob
le's, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev
. Michael R. Gardy. Burial with full military honors will be in Twin H
ills Memorial Park, &031 Muncy.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.
m. and again on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Born July 21, 1934, in Montoursville, he was the son of the late Willi

He and his wife of 18 years, the former Jane E. Dixon, were married Ju
ly 30, 1988.
A 1952 graduate of Montoursville High School, Bill worked most of hi
s life as a
self employed carpenter.
In addition to his wife, Jane, he is survived by three sons & daughter
