Clair Junior Schrack, 69, of 1610 Log Run Road, died on Thursday, Aug
. 2, 2012, at home. He and his wife, the former Evelyn Jean Strouse, r
ecently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on May 25 of this ye
ar.
Clair was born on Dec. 27, 1942, in Lock Haven and he was the son of C
lair Schrack Sr., and Mollie B. Stover.
He was a 1961 graduate of Lock Haven High School and a 1963 graduate o
f Williamsport Technical Institute with a degree in Woodworking and Ca
pentry. He was employed by Fine Art Wood Carving and Bethlehem Steel
, retiring in 2007. He was a master wood carver, and he enjoyed cookin
g and playing the fiddle. The most important thing to Clair was family
. Clair was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, Annunciation C
atholic Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Jeannie) Sc
hrack, Williamsport; two daughters, Wendy Marie (John) Trenholm, Willi
amsport and Karen Kay (Wayne) Nissly, Severn, Md.; one brother, Ronal
d Schrack, Del.; six sisters, Shirley Grieb, Bellefonte, Beverly Fishe
, Jersey Shore, Cindy Johnson, Warriors Mark, Vicki Staufer, Fla., Be
th Smith, Charleston, S.C., Jill Schrack, S.C.; a sister-in-law, Sall
y Schrack, Montoursville; eight grandchildren, Charlene Schrack, Emil
y Schrack, Alexander Schrack, Melissa Trenholm, Meghan Trenholm, Chris
topher Nissly, Micah Nissly, Sarah Nissly; one great-granddaughter, Av
ery Lumbard, and a stepmother, Vera Schrack, Charleston, S.C. He was p
edeceased by his father and two brothers, James Sunday and Jerry Schr
ack.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at Sain
t Joseph the Worker Parish, Annunciation Catholic Church, 702 W. Fourt
h St., Williamsport, with Rev. David W. Bechtel officiating. Burial wi
ll be in Wildwood Cemetery, &029, AKA, "Mound Cemetery""Mount Carmel"
, Mount Carmel. Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 6, from 6 t
o 8 p.m. at Kaufman Funeral Home, 2102 Northway Road, Williamsport.
The family will provide flowers and suggest that memorial contribution
