    y 1, 2006 in Greene Twp.

    He was born Nov. 12, 1945 in Lock Haven, a son of the late Park E. M
    . Barner Sr. and Geneva J. Rein Barner.

    He is a 1964 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School. He retired a
    s a Major in the PA National Guard.

    He was a local contractor, a member of Sugar Valley Fire Co. and Beec
    h Creek American Legion.

    He was married to Charlyn V. Varner Barner on Feb. 5, 1971.

    Surviving are a son, Park E. M. (Sonja) Barner III of Woolrich; two da
    ughters, Nicole R. Barner of Lock Haven and Heather M. Barner of Mil
    l Hall; a brother, William Barner of Lock Haven; a step-brother, Davi
    d Vanderpool of OH; two sisters, Debra Gentile of Castanea and Tina Wi
    lkens of Zion; and five grandchildren, Ethan Barner, Trista Barner, Bl
    ake Confer, Park Barner IV and Mackenzie Walsh.

    Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin M. Barne
    and a brother, Charles Barner.

    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2006 at the Donald G
    . Walker Funeral Home, 231 High St., Flemington, with Rev. Kathleen Ki
    d officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Intermen
    t will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, #028. Memorial contributions may b
    e made to the SPCA.
