MIFFLINBURG - John Nelson “Red” Reamer, Sr., 85, of 10 N. 10th St., si
ce 2003, entered into rest at 5:42 a.m., Wednesday, February 17, 2016
, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont. He and his wife lived in Merritt I
sland, Florida, for 18 winters.

He was born December 2, 1930, in Lewisburg, a son of the late John M
. and Katie (Wolfe) Reamer. On January 2, 1984, in Merritt Island, h
e married the former Carol Mae George, who preceded him in death Jun
e 29, 2014.

John was stationed in Germany and served as a medic in the Army durin
g the Korean War from February 5, 1952 until his honorable discharge J
anuary 7, 1954.

He was a member of the Mifflinburg United Methodist Church, where he s
erved on the Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee, and assisted wit
h the Thanksgiving dinners and Easter egg projects.

John was employed as a machinist at TRW, Danville, for 31 years.

He was a member of the Danville Moose, area Veterans of Foreign Wars
, Riverside Fire Company, and the 06 Rod and Gun Club, Blackwell.

John enjoyed gardening, crafts, macramé chairs, playing cards, traveli
g on bus trips, and camping with his wife at Hidden Valley Camp Groun
d, Mifflinburg, for 34 years.

Surviving are four daughters and three sons-in-law, Cathleen Reamer o
f York, Roxanne and Guy Kremser of Catawissa, Linda and Ed Bender of Y
ork, and Joyce and Randy Keister of Riverside; two sons and one daught
er-in-law, John, Jr. and Cathy Reamer of Riverside, and Daniel Reame
of Danville; three step-daughters and step-sons-in-law, Janice and M
ontana Schlegel of Millmont, Louise and Warren Styers of Mifflinburg
, and Dawn and Ronald Randler of Danville; 9 grandchildren, Nicky, Kim
, Shane, Bryan, Stacy, Lydia, Kiley, Eddie, and Blair; 4 step-grandchi
ldren, Jennifer, Kyle, Brooke, and Torie; 10 great grandchildren; an
d two step-great grandchildren; and 3 brothers, Luther Reamer of Mille
sburg, Lee Reamer of Aaronsburg, and Arthur Reamer of Muncy.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Elwood and Francis Reamer; an
d 3 sisters, Charlotte Styers, Anna Schreck, and Dorothy Richard.

A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be conducted at 10:3
0 a.m., Monday, at the Mifflinburg United Methodist Church, 279 Marke
t St., Mifflinburg, with Rev. Elizabeth Taylor, officiating.

A time of fellowship with light refreshments with the family will imme
diately follow the service in the church Family Life Center.

Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Catawissa.
