    Russell E. Barner, Jr. 44, of West Richland, WA was born April 1, 1957
    , in Spokane, WA and died Thursday, January 10, 2002, at Kadlec Medica
    l Center, Richland after a 2 ½ year battle with cancer.

    Russ was raised in Montana and married Janet Hoyt on May 28, 1977. H
    e attended DeVry in Phoenix, AZ (1987-1990).

    He and his family moved to the Tri-Cities in 1990 and worked as an eng
    ineer for Battelle Northwest Laboratories.

    He enjoyed fishing at Twin Lakes and on the Columbia River by McNary D
    am, and water skiing, camping and boating at Banks Lake with family an
    d friends. Russ enjoyed snow skiing and was on the ski patrol in Mont
    ana. His dog, Casey, also brought him much joy.

    Russ is survived by his wife, Janet; son, Ken of Salt Lake City, UT; d
    aughter, Jami of West Richland; father, Russell Barner, Sr. of Choteau
    , MT; in-laws, Bill and Ruth Hoyt of Choteau, MT, John and Chris Hoy
    t of Choteau, MT, Patsy and Joe Tate of Cheyenne, WY, Linda and Jim Sp
    inder of Choteau, MT, Sharon and Gerry Hunt of Memphis, TN, Charlene a
    d Mike Bradshaw of Drummond, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet M. Barner and brother, K
    enneth Ray Barner.

    Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2002
    , at Einan’s Funeral Home.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the Tri-City Canc
    er Center, 7350 W. Deschutes Ave., Kennewick, WA 99336.

    BARNER KENNETH RAY BARNER, JR. 68, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of the Clevel
    and area, died in AZ on March 24, 2015, from complications caused by e
    xposure to Agent Orange while in the Navy in Vietnam. Ken worked for A
    T&T in OH and AZ. He was active in the Communications Workers of Ameri
    ca, the Democratic Party and a charitable organization he founded call
    ed Veterans for Veterans. Ken is survived by his wife, Mary Kay (McCro
    e) Barner, daughter Sharon, son Eric, and grandchildren, all of Mesa
    ; sister, Marilyn Kirkland of Oviedo, FL; sisters-in-law Jane Riley o
    f North Ridgeville, OH, and Betty McCrone of Lakewood, OH; niece, neph
    ews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nephew. He was preced
    ed in death by his parents Kenneth R. Barner Sr. and Hortense M. (Smit
    h) Barner. A memorial service was held in AZ.
