Hoffer, Mary Elizabeth Hoffer, 88, or Jersey Shore passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Manor Care Jersey Shore.

She was born March 23, 1926 in Sugar Valley, a daughter of Harry "Saul" and Edna (Kleckner) Lamey.

Mary was married to Royall J. "Buck" Hoffer who passed away August 25, 1976.

She was a cafeteria worker and dietician for the Jersey Shore School District, retiring in the mid 80's.

Mary was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church of Jersey Shore.

She was a member of the D.A.R. and was a very accomplished and gifted genealogist.

Mary was a member and former treasurer of the Sugar Valley Historical Society.

She enjoyed gardening and sewing.

Her survivors include her daughters, Karen E. (Rev. Dr. Kerry) Aucke of Lock Haven and Sandra K. Hoffer of Jersey Shore; a brother, Fredrick R. (Therese) Hoffer of S. Hampton, MA; five grandchildren, Laughlin, Thaddeus, Fredrick, Teresa and Becky, along with 6 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.

Family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church.

Mary's Life Celebration will be held 11am Friday, May 2, 2014 at the St. John's Lutheran Church, 229 S. Broad St., Jersey Shore with Mary's son-n-law Rev. Dr. Kerry R. Aucker officiating. Interment will follow in Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd. "A Life Celebration Home" 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.

Doyle C. Lamey

Doyle C. Lamey, 74, formerly of Loganton, entered into rest Friday, No
v. 4, 2005 in the Susque-View Home in Lock Haven.
Born Jan. 22, 1931 in Loganton, he was the son of Harry E. (Sol) Lame
y and the former Edna E. Kleckner.
He is survived by his wife, the former Doris J. Brungard, they were un
ited in marriage Sept. 4, 1953 in Loganton.
Doyle was a 949 graduate of the Sugar Valley Highschool, he then enlis
ted in the United States Army in 1953 and was a member of the First In
fantry Division Band.
The band appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1955. Doyle worked for Ti
tan Metal in Bellefonte for 16 years and later was an agent for Americ
an General Insurance for 12 years.
He retired from Valley Sheet Metal in 1992. He owned and operated Lame
y’s Repair Shop in Loganton from 1964 until 2000.
He loved hunting, fishing, woodworking and was a certified gunsmith.
For many years Doyle was a member of the Saint Paul Lutheran Church i
Loganton.
Surviving are two sons, Denis C. Lamey and wife Deborah of Loganton an
d Douglas J. Lamey Sr. and wife Betty of Flemington; one daughter, Don
a J. Walizer and husband Geary of Lock Haven; two grandsons; three gr
anddaughters; one step-granddaughter; one brother, Harold Lamey of Rau
chtown; two sisters, Mary Hoffer of Jersey Shore and Jean Lamey of Log
anton.
His mother, father and a grandson preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Way
e P. Urbine Funeral Home, Main and Water Streets in Loganton. Friend
s may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Funeral home. Burial will b
e in the Fairview Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth E. Geisewite will officiate.

M. Jean Lamey, 73, of 12 Wood St., Loganton, passed away on Thursday
, July 10, 2008 at Williamsport Hospital.

Jean was born Nov. 28, 1934 in Loganton, a daughter of the late Harr
y E. and Edna E. (Kleckner) Lamey.

She was married to George F. Lamey on Dec. 15, 1951. He preceded her i
death on March 22, 2000.

Jean was formerly employed by Susque-View Home during the 1970s. She w
as a school bus driver for over 30 years for Kephart's, Schrack's an
d Susquehanna Transit. She was also a cook for the Pepper Run Huntin
g Club for many years.

Jean also loved sitting on her front porch and "gossiping" with friend
s. She was also a fine seamstress and avid quilter.

Jean also served on the election board and zoning-hearing board for ma
y years and belonged to the Sugar Valley Vol. Fire Co. #13, ladies au
xiliary.

Jean is survived by three daughters, Cindy (Danny) Smith of Spring Mil
ls; Sheryl (Bill) Kerstetter; and Melanie (Mike) Karchner, both of Log
anton, a son, Dan (Lynn) Lamey of Loganton, a sister, Mary (Dean) Hoff
er Munro of Jersey Shore and a brother, Harold (Sharon) Lamey of Rauch
town.

Jean was also blessed by 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren an
d six step great-grandchildren.

The funeral services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 11 a.m
. in the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home Inc., 95 E. Main St., Loganton
, with the Rev. Alan S. Eckenroad officiating.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m
. Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery.
