Funeral services were held on Friday for William Barner, of Williamspo
t.

He died Wednesday Dec. 8, 2010, at home while surrounded by his family
.

William was born in Oval on Dec. 30, 1921, a son of Guy and Myrtle Epl
er Barner.

Bill retired in 1983 after 40 years at the former Avco, now Lycoming
. Bill was a World War II Army Veteran.

His wife of 60 years, the former Lucy A. Caringi died July 28, 2006.

He is survived by a daughter Connie L. Barner with whom he lived, a si
ster Margaret Reading, of Jersey Shore and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, two sisters Lois Karstetter and Marie Eck an
d two brothers Harry and John "Jake" Barner preceded him in death.

Burial was in Wildwood Cemetery, &029, AKA, "Mound Cemetery""Mount Car
mel" with full military honors provided by the Korean War Veterans o
f Lycoming County.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contribu
tions in Willam's name may be made to Susquehanna Hospice, 1100 Grampi
an Blvd., 4 south, Williamsport, PA 17701
