a. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at 1
1 a.m. in Bellefonte, at Union Cemetery with Rev. David Vogan officiat
ing. Mrs. Heverly was born in Bellefonte, on Sept. 15, 1913 to the lat
e George H. and Emma S. Hazel. She graduated from Bellefonte High Scho
ol in 1930. She married the late Earl O. Heverly in 1936. They moved t
o Buffalo, N.Y. in 1948. In 1964 they returned to Bellefonte where the
y ran Heverly's News Agency on Allegheny Street for many years. At th
e age of 80, she made the move to Atlanta, Ga. to be with family and s
tart a new life as an active senior in a retirement community. She kep
t busy for the next 16 years volunteering in the post office, on the f
ont desk, giving guided tours and running the library at the facility
. She also enjoyed playing bridge and many lunch outings with her ne
w friends. She is survived by her son, James G. Heverly; granddaughter
, Claire H. Foege and husband Robert; and great-granddaughter, Ella Ro
salie Foege. Always an avid reader, in lieu of flowers, memorial gift
s may be sent to the Bellefonte Branch of the Centre County Library. A
