II, he was a member of American Legion Post 185. He was a member o
f Sons of Italy. He had been active for many years as a captain of th
e Civil Air Patrol in Hughesville. He was the husband of Madeline T. T
aber of Canton, Bradford county, Pennsylvania. She died in 1990, whic
h is about 1 year, 11 months, and 19 days from the date of his death
. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lucy Sallstrom, of this city and M
s. Jeannine Sweeney, of Montgomery, three brothers, Berdell, of Coga
Station, Stanley, of Muncy, and Max, of Hugesville; six sisters, Mrs
. Nina Houseknecht, Mrs. Helen Bastian, and Mrs. Maxine Loudenslager
, all of this city, Mrs. Betty Bastian, in Georgia, Miss Annabelle Ohn
meiss of Muncy, and Mrs. Vivian Heller, of Poughkeepsie, New York; si
x grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He made his home with Na
cy Doebler, of this city.
