    M. Luther Barner, 72, of Freeburg

    M. Luther Barner, 72, of Freeburg, died Tuesday at 4 p.m. at his
    home following a stroke which he suffered at 2:30 p.m. Mr. Barner
    was a retired farmer.
    Mr. Barner was born April 23, 1886 at Liverpool RD. He was the son
    of the late Jacob and Alice Deckard Barner. He was a member of St.
    John's (Barner's) Lutheran Church, Liverpool RD. He was married to
    Dora Markley, August 8, 1908. She preceded him in death August 6,
    1924.
    He is survived by two sons, Markley and Carl Barner, at home; three
    sisters, Mrs. Jennie Sechrist of Millerstown, Mrs. Minnie Rhoads,
    Selinsgrove, and Mrs. Milton Gelnett of Liverpool; a brother, Lee
    Barner of Harrisburg.
    Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Garman's funeral
    home, Mt. Pleasant Mills. Rev. Theodore Lindquist, pastor of the
    Liverpool Lutheran parish, will officiate. Interment will be in St.
    John's Church cemetery, Liverpool RD. Viewing will be held Thursday
    evening at the funeral home. Mr. Barner's six nephews, Albert
    Barner, Clayton Gelnett, Roy and Barner Lyter, Leroy and Blake
    Sechrist, will serve as pall bearers.

    MARKLEY R. BARNER

    Markley R. Barner, 60 of Middleburg RD 3, Washington Twp,
    expired at 9:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5th at the Gold Star Nursing Home,
    Milton where he has been a guest since Dec. 24, 1969. He has been in
    ill health the past number of years and death was attributed to a
    heart condition.
    He was a native of Mt. Pleasant Mills RD 1. While still a child,
    his family moved to Pfoutz Valley, Millerstown RD. He received his
    education in the Greenwood Twp Schools. After his schooling he
    helped his parents on the farm.
    In 1932 the family moved to Selinsgrove RD, where they engaged in
    farming. Several years later they moved to the Middleburg RD sector
    at which time he began employment in the old Freeburg Silk Mill,
    later working at Wood-Metal, Industries in Kreamer.
    He retired several years ago due to ill health. The past four
    years Mr. Barner had been Tax Collector of Washington Twp.
    Mr. Barner was born Feb. 17, 1909, at Mt. Pleasant Mills RD 1,
    Perry Twp. the son of the late M. Luther Barner and Dora May Markley
    Braner [sic].
    He was a member of the Barner's Lutheran Church, Liverpool RD 1.
    Surviving him are one brother, Carl F. Barner, with whom he
    esided; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
    Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Garman funeral
    home, Mt. Pleasant Mills with his pastor, Rev. Theodore Lindquist,
    Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in Barner's (Saint John's) Lu
    theran Church Cemetery Liverpool RD 1, Perry Co, PA,
    Liverpool RD 1.
    Relatives and friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday
    evening.
    The pall bears will be: Albert Kratzer, Richard Weller, Lester
    Weller, Joseph Francis Light, Miles Van Horn and Frank Moyer.

    CARL F. BARNER

    Carl Francis Barner, 54, of Middleburg RD 3 died on Tuesday morning
    Nov. 3 in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Mahoning Twp, Montou
    Co, PA, Danville where he had been a
    patient for the past two weeks.
    He was born May 28, 1917, at Millerstown RD 1, the son of the late
    M. Luther and Dora Joanna Markley Barner. He was educated in the
    schools of Perry County farming there. In 1932 he moved to the
    Selinsgrove-Middleburg area, where he continued farming and was also
    employed for sometime by Troutman's Meat Market, retiring several
    years ago due to ill health.
    Mr. Barner was a member of Barner's Lutheran Church, Liverpool RD 1.
    His only survivors are several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was
    preceded in death by a brother, Markley Barner.
    Funeral services were conducted on Saturday Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. from
    the Garman Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant Mills with his pastor, Rev.
    Theodore Lindquist Jr., officiating. Burial was made in Barner's
    Church Cemetery, Liverpool RD 1.
