    , May 19, 1999 in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
    She had worked for the former Ben Franklin store in Newport; was a mem
    ber and Sunday school teacher of Millerstown United Methodist Church
    ; a graduate of the former Shippensburg State Teachers College; and en
    joyed volunteer work.
    She was the widow of Samuel M. Kurtz.
    Surviving are two sons, Samuel E. and David M., both of Millerstown; t
    wo daughters, Cynthia Jennie Kurtz-McDermott of Pasadena, Calif.; an
    d Karen E. Burke of Boca Raton, Fla.; and two granddaughters.
    Services were held May 23 in her church. Burial was in Riverview Cemet
    ery.
    Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.
    Memorial contributions may be made to her church, c/o Rev. Arthur Mont
    gomery, 702 E. Sunbury St., Millerstown 17062.

    She was born July 26, 1918 at Millerstown to the late Irwin B. and Jen
    ie Barner Secrist.

    She was a homemaker.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Kerchner who die
    d December 18, 1993.

    Surviving are her daughter, Susan L. Brown of Melbourne Beach, FL; an
    d several other relatives in Perry County.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 3, 2007 in t
    he Nickel Funeral Home, 3626 Shermans Valley Road, Loysville with th
    e Rev. Michael Sigler officiating. Burial will be in the Emmanuel Luth
    eran Church Cemetery, Thompsontown, PA. Visitation will be from 10 t

    Born on July 26, 1918, in Millerstown, to the late Irwin B. and Jenni
    e Barner Secrist, she was a homemaker.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Kerchner, who die
    d Dec. 18, 1993.

    Surviving are her daughter, Susan L. Brown of Melbourne Beach, Fla., a
    d several other relatives in Perry County.

    Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Nickel Funeral Home, 3
    626 Shermans Valley Road, Loysville, with the Rev. Michael Sigler offi
