Gonder, Genifrede L.
Genifrede L. Gonder, 82, of Chambersburg, died Tuesday, November 21 i
her home. Born June 22, 1924 in Ft. Loudon, she was a daughter of t
he late Abraham Lincoln and Ruth Barner Smith. Genifrede was a gradua
te of the former Lemaster’s High School and retired from Letterkenny A
my Depot. She was a member of Zion Reformed United Church of Chris
t and a member and Past President of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VF
W Ladies Auxiliary. Her husband, Jere H. Gonder preceded her in deat
h on September 5, 1994.
She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Martin and husband Roger of Cha
mbersburg, two grandchildren, Stephen P. Martin and wife Kristine of D
anbury, CT and Timothy M. Martin and wife Kerri of Berwyn, PA, three g
eat-grandchildren, TJ, Joey, and Katie, a sister, Carol Blair who res
ides at ManorCare Health Services in Chambersburg, and a sister-in-law
, Florence Hepfer of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and hus
band, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha B. Gonder on Dec
ember 1, 2005.
Services, under the direction of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, will b
e private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Keystone Hea
lth Center, 755 Norland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Genifrede L. Gonder, 82, of Chambersburg, died Tue
sday, Nov. 21, 2006, at her home.
Born June 22, 1924, in Fort Loudon, Pa., she was the daughter of the l
ate Abraham Lincoln and Ruth Barner Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jere H. Gonder, in 1994.
She was a graduate of the former Lemasters High School.
She retired from Letterkenny Army Depot.
She was a member of Zion Reformed United Church of Christ.
She was a member and past president of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 15
99 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Martin of Chambersburg; one s
ister, Carol Blair of Manorcare Health Services in Chambersburg; two g
andchildren, Stephen P. Martin of Danbury, Conn., and Timothy M. Mart
in of Berwyn, Pa.; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marsha B. Gonder.
Services will be private.
