Jemima E. Hofer

Miss Jemima E. Hofer, 88, longtime South Williamsport resident, former
ly of Bayard Street, went to be with the Lord on the morning of Saturd
ay, Oct. 16, 2010, at the Sycamore Manor Health Center, Montoursville.
Miss Hofer had been an active, loyal and dedicated member of the Sout
h Williamsport United Methodist Church, where she had been a member si
ce 1935. She had served on a number of committees including the flowe
care committee and also the Worship membership committee.
Miss Hofer retired in 1983 from the former Winchester Optical Compan
y of Williamsport, where she had served for 40 years in the office.
She was a member of the Susquehanna Chapter of the American Business W
omen, a member of AARP, and a member of the Messiah Senior Citizens a
t South Williamsport.
Born March 10, 1922, at Williamsport, she was the daughter of the lat
e William and LeVerne Barner Hofer.
In addition to her late parents, she was also preceded in death by he
two brothers, Hamilton G. Hofer and Norris W. Hofer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at th
e Charles M. Noll Funeral Home, 1 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport
. Her pastor, Rev. Mark D. Brumbach, will officiate. Interment will im
mediately follow at Montoursville Cemetery, Montoursville.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday
, Oct. 22, 2010, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the fune
al home.
