D. Leona Barner, age 79, passed away surrounded by her family, July 21
, 2010 at her home near Stapleton, NE. Leona was born June 13, 1931 t
o Leo Douglas and Mable Quinn (Allen) Cash near Ringgold, NE. On Jun
e 23, 1948 she married the love of her life, Glen D. “Red” Barner in N
orth Platte, NE. They resided on a farm near Stapleton in the house Re
d built for her early in their marriage.
Leona enjoyed raising their six children, being involved in 4-H, bowli
g and yard work. She was secretary and timer of the Logan County Rode
o for several years.
She is survived by her husband, Red of Stapleton, NE; children, Jolee
(Kenny) Blake of Maxwell, NE, Don (Joan) Barner of Wallace, NE, Glen
da (Jack) Krebs of North Platte, NE, Teresa (Steve) Facka of Dickens
, NE, Kyle (Veda) Barner of Big Sky, MT and Trent (Marissa) Barner o
f Fremont, NE; 12 grandkids, Stacy (Dan) Iske of Sutherland, NE, Shan
e Mathers of Anappolis, MD, Justin Krebs of Cheyenne, WY, Deonna (Josh

Graveside services were Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the Loup Valley Cem
etery near Stapleton with Pastor Bob Anderson officiating.
